Caroline Casey
I started my dance training like most little girls at my local dance school, NGAD Based in Middlesex, Under the watchful eye of miss crouch .
This is where my passion for performing and teaching all stems from.
Whilst at NGAD, I became a member of The British Arts Association which I am still a member of today.
I took part in national competitions winning at national finals many times and being awarded all round performer as a junior, intermediate and senior performer. I was lucky enough to audition and be chosen to be in pantomimes at local theatres and to take part in full length ballet productions.
During this time I joined questers acting society and performed in plays and through them auditioned for the national youth theatre where we took classes on a Sunday and took part in productions in London theatres .
I also joined a contemporary dance school for a short while based in Richmond where we toured with a new work called the planets !
At the age of 16 I auditioned for full time vocational training and was excepted at corona stage school , then a leading facility for training , I trained along side the likes of Nicolas lyndhurst . I was fortunate to be put on the books of an agency and worked professionally, taking part in music videos, voice overs, working on butterfly’s for the bbc, training videos , modelling and appearing in London plays and musicals, “our town”, Robert and Elizabeth, midsummer night dream, guys and dolls, 42nd st and Saturday Sunday and Monday to name a few.
Whilst “resting” I took teaching jobs teaching privately and at corona, during this time my passion for teaching became apparent !
I taught in London at British Arts schools and for IDTA for many years taking master classes and running a school , however when the recession hit I had to leave teaching , I then worked as Cabin Crew for Virgin Atlantic ,again I was fortunate to be used on new route flights and be involved in promotions , this lifestyle enabled me to continue with my dancing and I took lessons at pineapple studios, studio 1 in NY, and at LA fitness las Angeles I also examined during this time for the British Arts awards at regional semi finals competitions.
I hung up my wings in 1996 and moved to Hampshire where on 2nd sept, I opened showstoppers stage school… And as they say the rest is history!
